Storm’s A-Comin!

… And so are we! We won’t risk our lives if things get really nasty on the road but as of right now the band and I are on our way to Hampton NB for a show tonight at The Vintage Bistro. Show starts at 9pm with the lovely Babette Hayward opening up! Then tomorrow, weather dependant, we are making our way to Hunters in Charlottetown PEI for another night of rock with the Racoon Bandit boyz!!!! Show starts around 10pm. We think the storm will be died down by then. I’ll try to post an update if anything changes within the next two days.

The album’s coming out officially across Canada on Tuesday, Sept 7th. Y’all will be able to purchase online from iTunes and at your local HMV or other record stores. If they don’t have it, please ask them to order the album from EMI! All the songs will be up on my Launch Player for you to listen to next week until Sept 14th (only 8 are there now)!!!

Big Halifax Launch party next Friday at The Seahorse Tavern! Buy advance tickets by clicking HERE. My mom will be there!

I am very happy to announce that EMI Music Canada will be distributing my new album I CAN TOO across Canada! Summer Shows and The Upcoming Release of ‘I Can Too’…

There are some really fun shows planned for the summer: Cavendish Beach Music Festival July 8th (The same night Keith Urban is playing!!), Parliament Hill on July 1st (Noon and Evening Show) with The Guess Who, Waterville NS with Jimmy Rankin on June 18th, The Harmony Bazaar in Lockeport NS… please visit the SHOWS page of my website for more details about all the summer dates.

Recently I found out that there is a strong possibility I will be introduced to The Queen on Canada Day in Ottawa! That’s right! THE Queen of England… OUR Queen! Whenever anyone mentions The Queen of England around my mother, she said ‘She drove by our house on University Avenue Street in Fredericton and she pointed to our flowers AND she nodded. She must have really thought our flowers were nice.” Seriously, I’ve heard my mother say this about 20 times. If I get to meet The Queen of England on Canada Day the experience will provide my mother with a much more realistic and exciting story to tell people.

It won’t be much longer before we announce the new album release date and tour dates for 2010. I am totally pumped about everything!

May Tour Dates in Eastern Canada

Hi Everyone! Thanks to all the new fans who joined the email list. Did you receive your free download MP3? Getting back on the road starting this weekend!!! Don’t get me wrong, I love being home… but there is a tendency to spend more time catching up on admin work than playing songs and being around people. It is my PLEASURE to get back out there to see all of you again, and to meet some new folks along the way. We will be spreading the word about the upcoming new release ‘I Can Too’, as well as a new line of merchandise that will be available at my shows starting May 5th. The May Tour beings in lovely Tatamagouche NS on May 2nd, and ends May 23 in PEI. Check out all dates and ticket info on the SHOWS page of my new website. Looking forward to seeing you again! New Website/MySpace/Merch

Dale and I have produced a new full-length album called ‘I Can Too’! Mat Dunlap designed this new website and my new MySpace. Daniel Ledwell hand painted much of the text on this glorious site, as well as painted the new album artwork (which I will post for your viewing pleasure soon!). Please take a second to sign the mailing list and you will receive a free download for the remix of ‘Two Hearts’ by Daniel Ledwell. I will keep you updated on the new release in 2010.

Canadian Corner shows in Northern Ireland

Thanks to Andy Peters and The BBC for a wonderful experience in Ireland!! The Belfast Nashville Songwriters Festival treated us well. Ran into Phil Kaufman (Road Mangler) at the hotel in Belfast. Watch Grievous Angel and you’ll know who I’m talking about. Discovered a liking for Guinness in Ireland…

Vancouver Olympics February 2010

Dale and I flew to Vancouver and performed three shows at the Olympics last week. The volunteers, workers, and the audiences treated us like gold! Playing and singing alongside Jimmy Rankin at The Roundhouse was a real treat! Jimmy and I sang the song we co-wrote called ‘Walk That Way’.

The Atlantic Canada house was one of the top places to check out live music at the Olympics. Located on Granville Island, the venue had lineups all day/night for people to get in and experience a bit of Atlantic Canada. We had a blast playing there and picked up an extra show! My good friends Cuff The Duke flew from Toronto to back me up for the Atlantic Canada House gigs and we had a great time!
